          We've all heard that exercise should be part of a healthy lifestyle and that no weight management program is complete without it.

But how many of us know exactly why exercise is so important?

Physically, regular sustained exercise serves to improve cardiovascular function which, in turn, strengthens the heart
and increases oxygen throughout the body. This alone goes
a long way toward reducing the risk of heart disease.

Exercise also lowers the levels of cortisol in the body which have
been released by the adrenal glands in response to stress, thereby neutralizing the harmful effects of stress. Moreover, exercise produces endorphins which are the body's natural pain killers.

Furthermore, besides the benefit of burning extra
calories, a regular exercise regimen promotes deep,
restful sleep.
